What's your favourite manga? If you're a new reader, comics or graphic novels from Japan are known as manga. Unlike comics in North America, manga are usually printed in black and white. Designing your characters is an important step. What do they look like? What personality traits do they have? By knowing what your characters are like, you can figure out what they are going to do in your story.
There isn't one way to tell a story that works for all writers. Some create their characters first. Some plan out the plot, which is the order of events that happen in the story. Also think about the setting. Where and when does the story take place? In the past or the present? In the city or the country?
Next comes the fun part: drawing your manga! There are many different materials you could use to draw, like pencil crayons and paint. The possibilities are endless! You don't have to be a super good artist right away. The most important part of creating a manga is to have fun!
