Reading Challenge 2024: A Book about Community

What does community mean to you? Riding your bike to the library to meet friends after school? Picking up litter at the local park? Helping your neighbour shovel snow?

This Reading Challenge category explores where we live, work and play together. Everyone has something to contribute! Some people are good at making art, others are good at fixing things. When we all share our ideas and talents and work together, we can help each other and solve problems.

Being part of a community also means supporting each other when things get tough. If someone is sick or feeling sad, their friends and neighbours can help out. This makes everyone feel safe and cared for. When we help others, we also make ourselves feel happy and proud. Every small action can help make the whole community stronger.

Finished the 2024 Reading Challenge? High five! Let a grown-up know if you want to receive a certificate, enter the prize draw, or both. You need to have a library card and to fill out this survey by December 31, 2024. Congratulations on an awesome year of reading!
