Our planet is so beautiful and every season has unique wonders. One of Toronto's spring traditions is admiring the delicate pink flowers on the sakura (or cherry blossom) trees. Luckily, we can visit High Park from home!
Watch the Bloom at Home camera livestream. Our Bookmobile, nicknamed Big Blue, is helping to provide the Internet connection. This way, people can see the trees during the peak bloom period while staying safe at home. Thanks, Big Blue!
This Earth Day, if you can't spend some time outdoors in nature, help do a little spring cleaning at home! Before you throw something out as garbage, think about if it can be reused or recycled. Do you know what belongs in the recycling bin and what doesn't? Different cities have different rules, so check with a grown-up. If you live in Toronto, you can ask the Waste Wizard!
We should always be doing our part to protect our planet, not just during one day a year. Remember, of the 3Rs, the first steps are to Reduce and Reuse, with Recycle as the final option. The easiest way to help solve the Earth's plastic pollution problem? Reduce the amount of plastic you use!
There are many other ways you can take action. Here are some books with ideas:

How to Make a Better World by Keilly Swift and Rhys Jefferys
Kids Fight Plastic by Martin Dorey and Tim Wesson
