Reading Challenge 2022: A Book about a City

Have you ever built a miniature city out of cardboard or Lego? While you were designing it, you probably had room for only one of each building: a library, a school, a grocery store, a hospital. Of course, cities in real life are a gazillion times bigger! You'll need a lot of Lego just to recreate the Toronto Public Library's 100 branches.

What else would you put in your dream city? How easily can you walk or take the bus somewhere? Are there places to ride a bicycle and hang out with friends? Where is the wildlife? What happens to all the waste?

In cities large and small, all over the world, people live, work and have fun. For this Reading Challenge category, you can pick a book about any city! It could be a real or an imaginary place. Built with stones or steel, Legos or words, cities are sprawling, growing giants: filled with millions of stories.
