Branch Art Exhibit: Diorama Exploring Big Issues by Martha Davis

Throughout September, the works of artist Martha Davis are on display at the Northern District Branch in an exhibit titled Diorama Dramas: Playfully Exploring Big Issues.

Martha Davis is a Toronto-based self-taught photo artist, filmmaker, and children's author. Over her 45-year career, her work has been shown nationally and internationally. Her award-winning short film PANDALAND: Making IT Count inspired a series of dioramas.

"My dioramas address and explore the many challenges we currently face as a society. I use miniature toy animals, objects and figures in photographed environments to make my work approachable and relatable for all ages."

Please note the works will be on display until 7 pm on September 30, 2025.

This exhibit of Diorama Photographs is part of TPL's Art Exhibit Space program. Toronto Public Library provides space for local artists to exhibit their work at locations across the city. These exhibits aim to reflect the diverse cultural interests of the city and its neighbourhoods.

The exhibit can be viewed during Northern District branch open hours. Please check the Northern District Library page before your visit.

Free. All are welcome.
