Preschool STEM: Build with Magnetic Tiles

2:00 PM to 3:00 PM

Get ready for a fun and interactive program where you can explore your creativity through building and construction. Using magnetic tiles, kids will sharpen their fine motor skills by creating 3D structures like houses, towers, castles, and more. We provide the materials; you bring the imagination!

For children ages 3-6 with their parent or caregiver. Please register in-branch at Parliament Street Library or by calling 416-393-7663.

Baby Time

Join us for our Baby Time at St. Lawrence! Enjoy songs, rhymes, and stories geared towards children from birth to 18 months, with their parents and caregivers.

Introduction to 3D Design with Tinkercad

6:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Tinkercad is a web browser based 3D application. Through the creation of simple everyday objects students will learn the tools for object based 3D Design.

Learn how to create 3D designs using the browser-based application Tinkercad. Topics covered will include understanding the interface, main tools, with a step-by-step guide on how to create a 3D model.

This is an in-person event intended for ages 9 and up. Registration is required via Eventbrite. Computers and peripherals will be provided.

Adobe Lightroom

2:00 PM to 3:30 PM

Come learn all about Adobe Lightroom CC, an industry standard tool used by photographers to organize, retouch, and share their work.

We will focus on learning the workflow of the software, covering topics such as importing photos, RAW vs JPEG files, file organization, retouching and correcting our images, and exporting and sharing our finished work.

Hands on Exotics!

Hands on Exotics is an exotic animal shelter that brings a wide variety of animals including feathery, furry, and scaly friends to help educate the public about the animals and important topics such as conservation and responsible pet ownership.

This session covers essential Google Docs skills, from opening, saving, and formatting documents to customizing your documents in Page Set-up. Discover Google Doc?s templates to create resumes and letters.

Introduction to 3D Printing

4:00 PM to 5:00 PM

This class/lecture is DROP-IN.

Learn how 3D printers work and how you can print at the Toronto Public Library?s Digital Innovation Hubs. This class includes hands-on instruction with PrusaSlicer, the software used to prepare your 3D object file for printing on an Prusa MK3S printer.
Note: Customers are no longer required to attend a mandatory 3D printing class prior to using a 3D printer at the Toronto Public Library?s Digital Innovation Hubs.
This class is for those who are interested in learning more about 3D printing and how to use the PrusaSlicer software and understanding how to get started with our 3D printing service.
