GIANT Board Games

Everyone's favourite board games get a whole lot more fun when they are super-sized. Join us for a fun-filled day of GIANT board games! Play your favourites or try something new! Brings your friends and family or meet new people at the library. Games available for use in the Children's area.

Available games include: Snakes & Ladders, Checkers, Sorry, Cards, Uno, Chess, Tic-Tac-Toe, Chess, Connect 4, Feltro

Keep Calm and Carry Yarn Crafting Circle

10:30 AM to 12:00 PM

Come craft with us! TRL is hosting a once a month crafting circle where you can create and chat. Whether its crochet, knitting, embroidery or sewing; connect with fellow craftspeople as you work on your project. All skill levels are welcome.

*Note* We do supply yarn and crochet hooks/knitting needles for those that need them during the program.

If you'd like to donate any knit or crocheted clothing items please bring them to the Digital Innovation Hub on the 1st Floor, right now we're looking for socks, belts and slippers!

Philippe Flahaut: Vive le soleil de l'été

11:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Découvrez des chansons traditionnelles de France et du Québec ! Ce programme met en lumière un vocabulaire centré sur les activités estivales, les vacances, l'eau, le soleil, les animaux et les couleurs. Les enfants découvriront des chansons à répondre, des mélodies accompagnées d'instruments de musique, ainsi que des jeux musicaux amusants. C'est un programme interactif où les enfants sont pleinement engagés et participent activement.

This is a featured French language Summer Wonder program. Drop-in, no registration required.

Family Storytime

10:00 AM to 10:45 AM

Stories, songs, rhymes and activities for children ages 5 and under with their parents/caregivers, followed by stay and play. Stay and play is an opportunity for children and their parents to socialize, play, and have fun! Large groups/day camps must register in advance.

For ages 0-6.

This is a drop-in program.

Introduction to 3D Printing

1:00 PM to 2:00 PM

This class/lecture is DROP-IN.

Learn how 3D printers work and how you can print at the Toronto Public Library?s Digital Innovation Hubs. This class includes hands-on instruction with PrusaSlicer, the software used to prepare your 3D object file for printing on an Prusa MK3S printer.
Note: Customers are no longer required to attend a mandatory 3D printing class prior to using a 3D printer at the Toronto Public Library?s Digital Innovation Hubs.
This class is for those who are interested in learning more about 3D printing and how to use the PrusaSlicer software and understanding how to get started with our 3D printing service.

Sushi Making for the Soul *FULL*

2:00 PM to 3:30 PM

Vegetarian Sushi Making Workshop with Chef Sang Kim

​Toronto celebrity chef Sang Kim teaches the basics of sushi-making. Participants make sushi rolls using ingredients prepared by the Chef and eat their own creations. A brief history of sushi, its origins and eating etiquette will also be shared.​
