Toronto Public Health: Eating Healthy on a Budget

With the cost of food rising, this workshop will look at ways families can save on their grocery bill. Participants will learn about tips for meal planning at home with children, as well as, how to maximize grocery shopping while shopping at the store including the ?best buys? in various foods. This workshop will also cover general tips to help stretch every food dollar and tips to manage food waste, especially when feeding a family. For parents and caregivers with children Ages 0-6.

Healthy eating is essential for overall health. Participants will be introduced to the relationship between food and mood. They will be able to identify common foods from Canada?s Food Guide that support positive mood, understand how mood can affect food choices and apply concepts of mindful eating to make family mealtimes with young children less stressful. For parents and caregivers with children Ages 0-6.
