Ready, set, game on! The TD Summer Reading Club is back. Pick up a free reading kit at your local branch or sign up online starting June 15. If you're at the library, borrow a grab & go bag or two while you're there. We have Summer Wonder and TDSRC themed bags full of great books.
You can participate in the Club anywhere and anytime. If you love the jokes and trivia here on TPL Kids, you can get more on the TDSRC website. There are tons of fun online activities and programs! Create an online notebook, then read books, get badges and write reviews. Plus, you can vote in the Battle of the Books. At the end of the summer, one book will be crowned as the champion! Last year, Dog Man: For Whom the Ball Rolls took home the title. Which book will win this year? You decide!
New this year is a web comic by Mike Deas. Mike has written and illustrated many books and graphic novels, including Shadow Island, the first book in the Sueño Bay Adventures!
Taking a StoryWalk® is another new activity you can do with your family. Stroll around outside of a library building and enjoy reading a story from one page to the next. You can try this at 19 different branches. Tell a grown-up that they can find out more at tpl.ca/readingclub! There's also information about how to sign up for Beanstack, a way to track your reading and earn badges online.
It's time to get your summer read on! Write your own stories, watch videos of authors and illustrators and so much more. What are you waiting for? Sign up today!
