Fingerplay: Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed

Related to: Hearing Words, Play

Fingerplays with repetition are comforting to your child and builds self-confidence. Children are likely to sing along when they are familiar with the fingerplay.

Five little monkeys jumping on the bed, (Hold up five fingers and move hand up and down)
One fell off and bumped his head! (Rub head with hand)
Momma called the doctor and the doctor said,
“No more monkeys jumping on the bed.” (Point index finger and move it back and forth)

Repeat rhyme for:
Four little monkeys…
Three little monkeys…
Two little monkeys…
One little monkey…
Momma called the doctor and the doctor said, “No more monkeys jumping on the bed.” (Point index finger and move it back and forth)
